ISSUE 17 : The Vision of Ouroborous
John Menick: OK Computer?
John Menick選譯—電腦Ok嗎?(副標:人與機器)
November 5th, 2014Type: Translation
Author: John Menick Editor: Rikey Tenn
Quote From: Frieze no.161; translated by Lee, Yen-yi (李彥儀)
Note: First published on Frieze no.161, the subtitle of the topic "Man vs. Machine" offers a more comprehensive context for the readers to understand John Menick's notion on the computer in its visual narratives, and for it's association with the implication of utopia, or otherwise, dystopia. He also barrows the image of "sentient computer" as the best partner of scientists from many sci-fi films to complete his intriguing writing on the ending of our stories which has yet to come.
Alan Mathison Turing (23, Jun,1912 ~ 7, Jun,1954); wikipedia
