The Flametending Beholder – Chen Hsin-Yi: Disciplined Improvisation on the Move
添柴火的紀錄者—陳芯宜:從橋底到帳篷裡的自主稽古
April 10th, 2018Type: Opinion
Author: Lin, Yi-shiu Editor: Rikey Tenn
Note: The author interviewed the director of "The Moving Tent," Chen Singing, whose documentary featured Taiwan Haibizi. The article manifests Chen's understanding of documentary through the conversation. In an age when images inundate the society, how does a capturer of real images do more than just recording but revealing the internal reality, "allowing (as tent theatre does) the viewers to see reality" – as mentioned by Daizo Sakurai in the film, and seeing "the real" that can be demonstrated through the process of art?
