ISSUE 36 : Be Queer, Be Positive
The Obscene Future: A Rearview from FluidØ to I.K.U.
淫猥未來─從鄭淑麗的《體液Ø》回訪《I.K.U.》
December 28th, 2017Type: Performance
Author: 張竣昱 Editor: Rikey Tenn
Note: Even though on the Internet there is a handful of discussions on the cyberpunk allusion about FluidØ and I.K.U. by Shu Lea Cheang, the author pays more attention to the discourse battle over "lifestyle" concerning the sexual liberation movement, or AIDS liberation movement that is referred to in the films. Viewed from a historical perspective and the main concern of the movement, sexual pleasure as the viewing glasses for an individual is the shared propensity in these two films. The viewpoint of "post-AIDS," which is brought forth for public health issue, while implying the future of sex governance, fumbles the opportunity to reflect on for it denies the past.
